The gym culture is rapidly expanding as an increasing number of people make fitness a lifestyle choice. For example, we now have over 1,200 F45 Training studios in 36 countries, and we're still growing. The demographic of people who attend the gym has changed as a result of fitness as a lifestyle choice.

There is a long history of public gyms and fitness centers, dating back thousands of years to the first gymnasiums of ancient Greece. The origins of the contemporary health club or gym can be traced back to Greece. These public gymnasiums were built for athletes to train for open competitions such as the Olympics. Along with knowledge, fitness and bodily care were part of ancient Greek philosophy. After the fall of the Greco-Roman Empires, the gyms disappeared from the scene, only to reappear in Germany in the last 18th century. However, by the middle of the nineteenth century, schools had begun to construct gymnasiums to help support their booming sports programs, reigniting public interest in not just the health advantages of exercise but also the aesthetics of looking fitter.

The first commercial gym was established in Paris and Brussels. YMCA was another fitness club founded in 1844 that adopted the health model that would grow through the 20th Century. In 1939, fitness legend Jack La Lane opened what is believed to be the first U.S. health club in Oakland. It was the birth of the Gold Gym in Venice which transformed the fitness industry. It started an era of new big-box health and fitness model that could – and would – be duplicated to open the doors to the masses. Following the success of Gold's Gym, Joe Gold founded the World Gym network in 1977. It led to the opening of several gym chains including 24 Hour Fitness (1983) and LA Fitness (1984) and the rest is history.

The modern fitness industry is valued at nearly 80 billion dollars, with mega-chains continuing to this day. With more and more people becoming fitness conscious, the industry is expanding and transforming. Another recent trend is the rise of Boutique studios and fitness clubs. There are thousands of fitness studios around America catering to all kinds of audiences and some of them are unique.

Here, in this article, we have curated a list of seven best gyms in the world which are unique and interesting.

Some Interesting mentions -

Tulum Jungle Gym – Tulum, Mexico

If you are planning a trip to Mexico and are in desperate need of a powerful pump? There is no better spot to work out than the self-proclaimed "World's Best Beach Gym," which is located on the lovely beach of Tulum.

With its distinctive weight display positioned directly in front of the lake, it is one of the main tourist attractions. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. It is, however, a tad costly. A one-day pass costs USD 25. However, given the gym's distinctiveness, the visit and admission charge is well worth it. Whether you're utilizing the amazing machines or the crazy weights and barbells, you'll most certainly be sharing a lot of photos to your social media account.

Hydro park Outdoor Gym – Kyiv, Ukraine

Do you want to go back in time? This gym checks almost all of the boxes for a hard-core gym goer. However, if you are a luxury trainee who requires high-end equipment and an air-conditioned environment, the Hydro park is not for you. The blue rusted equipment, which is located near Kyiv, adds to the setting's uniqueness. It resembles an abandoned park, only there are training machines, dumbbells, and barbells instead of rusted equipment.

Makeshift Gym – Copacabana Beach, Rio De Janeiro

If you are planning on visiting Brazil? If that's the case, Copacabana Beach should be on your list of places to visit. On the sands of Rio de Janeiro's beach, you'll find the incredible Makeshift Gym.

The arrangement is exactly as distinctive as the Tulum beach gym location mentioned earlier in the article. It doesn't get much better than flaunting that beach body you worked so hard for while also working up a sweat. You're in for one of the best pumps of your training career, thanks to the intense Brazilian sun striking your skin during the workout. The one-of-a-kind dumbbells and barbells add to the fun.

To survive in the present-day fitness industry, a fitness studio has to offer more than its contemporaries and establish its own unique identity. It has to nourish its niche customer base to beat the competition. The ten gyms listed above are excellent examples of how far the fitness industry has come and how it is innovating itself.
